Walnut has a long history in furniture and architectural interiors, valued for its rich tone and the way it reads as warm rather than heavy in a room.
Character
American black walnut ranges from a deep chocolate brown through purplish undertones, generally with a straight grain that occasionally breaks into figure near the crotch or root of the tree. It tends to photograph and read darker than it appears in person, where the grain has more visible movement.
