Sycamore

Sycamore's pale tone makes it an unusual choice for a hardwood, and one that reads closer to bleached or bright oak than to a typical cabinet species.

Character

Straight-grained with a fine, close texture, sycamore is typically nearly white to pale tan. Quarter-sawn faces show a distinctive fleck similar to oak's, though finer and more subtle, which is part of why it tends to be specified for lighter, brighter interiors.
